hello hello! this entry's for all those who feel that training is horrid/a nightmare. (& not for those who have no intentions on doing well in running)
i've come to realise that MANY of you guys are feeling that way. it may have become a chore, or maybe because of someone in trng that has made you feel BLEAHH about running. face it, you still have more than a year left in running and you either do something about it, or let it be ruined because of some injury/person/illness. and the latter's not worth it okay you paid for the fees. you hate training? then just quit. dont give the stupid excuse that there's no other cca to join so you're sticking to "horrid XCountry". DONT JUST GO FOR TRAINING SO THAT YOU CAN AVOID WRITING AN ULU LETTER FOR NOT COMING FOR TRAINING. its a stupid reason.
but anyway, this is no reprimand or anything, its just a reminder, are you really gonna let it go to waste by showing no interest?, giving up? letting harsh words destroy your passion for running? (please say no) cos if you are, you're wasting a whole lot of time.
even so, if you find yourself far from being the fastest, set goals, targets, at least close up the gap between you and the person faster than you, or, try to improve by 30s or 1 minute or so for 8km or something. hahahha. Sometimes trying to fight hard is something that isnt really easy to do, but keep trying, even if you dont become the fastest but if you improve, at least you didnt waste all that time running in the rain, hot sun, getting your shoes and legs all muddy right. and whats more is that, you gain the fighting spirit. you dont have to be the best. believe in yourself. you've been running for months/more than a year (for sec2-3s). and i'm sure something must have grown in you guys. and like what he said, if you find yourself doing the same workout as the workout you did months ago, something is really wrong. you might as well be in library club and go running occasionally with a friend. you'd be saving so much money that could be donated to feed those starving in africa or something. (ok i'm getting abit overboard but you get my point.)
anyway, if you think you've been slacking in training for too long, its not too late to do something about it, we're still pretty far from nationals. anything can happen. :) if you've got the spirit, it shouldnt be too hard to get to where you wanna be. just be patient and you'll get there someday. dont keep procastinating or before you know it, you'll get an injury that'll stop you from running for months.
and rmb, encourage one another yup, even if youre dying, encourage your teamate. you have no idea how much it'll mean to her. if any of you think this entry is pinpointed at you or anything, its not, you have teammates feeling the same way as you.
anyway today i asked mrq for his opinion on the term "burn out". it is but a psychological problem. and people get it because they havent been performing to their expectations during their workout. anw rmb, in Xcountry, you dont just become stronger physically, you get stronger mentally, dont care how many horrid workouts you've been having, keep on fighting, even if its been months/ you think you're getting a burn out/ you keep falling sick whatever. dont give in, because there will be that one day when you finally become better which will make all those horrid days of trng worthwhile.
hehehhee ok i'm going back to watch my cartoon now. BYE. and try to make the best of at least 95% of the runs you have alright! :) (the 5% is for Off days which is normal for proded runners or maybe for them they get 1% of off days hehehe.). something tells me i just wrote a crappy entry. =X
